181 Martel Presents: June Thirteenth
181 Martel is pleased to present an exhibition of new works by June 13th. A collaboration fueled by the energy and creativity of Dr. Romanelli and José Parlá.
The show is comprised of a unique collection that defines the vision
and flow of June 13th. This compilation introduces a number of unique collaborations with Visvim, Anachronorm, and Dita; some of the world’s freshest and most innovative brands.
June13th creates original artwork on leather patchwork by Dr. Romanelli with meticulous designs by José Parla’s calligraphy and painting techniques packed and jumbled with layers of written stories, poems, names and motifs.
The leather patchwork stitching and layered surface of the art bring to life a texture that resembles a mosaic of tiles inspired by urban walls in subway stations.
The calligraphy patterns of the June 13th jacket line are beautifully matched with one of a kind leather patchwork and crafted by hand into a presentation as unique as the character of the person who wears them.
This collection also features the creativity of Hiroki Nakamura (VISVIM) and his highly sought after FBT moccasin. The shoe presents a leather patchwork skirt designed by June13th.
The Okayama based company, Anachronorm; known for its painstaking craftsmanship and denim skills is working with June13th on creating a limited edition series of jeans.
Dita, known for its highly secretive use of high-end technology to create the finest shades known to mankind brings a never seen before technique to present the art of sunglass making.
